Presbyterian, Providence incorporate Bright.md's SmartExam technology

Albuquerque, N.M.-based Presbyterian Healthcare Services and Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services’ Oregon market have implemented Bright.md’s virtual care solution SmartExam.

SmartExam automates communication between physicians and patients. Physicians can remotely provide care for patients via tablets, mobile phones or computers. The platform interviews patients and uses answers to gather more information to support providers in care delivery.

In addition to deploying the technology, Presbyterian is also implementing SmartExam’s Spanish translation feature. This feature allows patient interviews to take place in Spanish and offers a medically certified translation into an English note in real time. Additionally, patients will have access to personalized educational and care materials in Spanish.

Providence previously deployed SmartExam to a small group including its employees and other select groups, and the health system is now rolling out the technology across Oregon.
